The Biodiversity Group are busy!

The Biodiversity Group enjoyed pretty perfect weather for the first work party of the year at a Forestry and Land Scotland site (close to Ault na Noire road) on Sunday 25th February, the principal reason to remove the smaller sitka spruce regeneration within this area to ensure native woodland only develops.

On Sunday there was a really good turnout for the wood that the trust offered to the community – everything was gone by 1.30pm!

Statkraft take control at ‘Red John’.

The Norwegian state energy company, Statkraft is now the owner of the proposed new hydro electric scheme based around Loch Ashie.  This is just outside the Stratherrick and Foyers area around the Essich road.
