WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE FRIDAY

Friday, 20 October 2023
This week we were asking what does success look like? We have yet to answer that question but there is a series of little wins which I’d like to share this Friday.
- I took our external funders around the Strath for a tour of each area this week. One stop off was the new toilets at Foyers. Thumbs up from them after coming out of there. And a special mention to Peter for making sure they are kept clean.
- Highland Council validating the Stratherrick and Foyers Place Plan, making it the first Place Plan to be submitted in the Highlands (and well before the September 2024 submission date). I particularly liked the mention in ‘Construction News’!
- Great feedback from the majority of over 50 people who went to the Errogie Open Days event for Phase One of the Church project. With more new and younger families coming into the area I am also pleased we bit the bullet and started work on playparks and after school care projects earlier than expected. Our recent consultation events on PlayParks, Riverside Field and the Community Catch Up have been very constructive and positive.
- The road at Gorthleck being closed was slightly annoying but it gave me the opportunity to check out routes I had not yet driven on my own, become more aware of where things are and check out a few projects. Even if it meant some reversing back to the odd passing place here and there!
- Quotes for the new slipway coming in under what I expected, along with one or two other projects we have been working on. At a time when costs seem to escalate that is always a little win!
A big win is that we are offering support for food and fuel again this winter as the cost of living still bites us all. The application deadline is the end of October so make sure your application is in.
