The Wade Bridge of Whitebridge Group have been awarded a grant of £6500 from Stratherrick and Foyers Development Trust to help bridge repairs.  This was a suggestion in the recent Community Action Plan.

The grant will help carry out critical repairs to the north corner of the west abutment which has been eroded by flood riverflow.

This erosion has undermined support for this corner of the arch which is starting to show distress in the form of new cracks in the underside of the arch.

The total cost is estimated to be £9,350.00 supported by voluntary contribution (time and materials) valued at £3,100.00 making a total of £12,450.00

The sum of money required from SFCT towards the cost of the repair, £6,500.00 will be granted in full. In recognition of the unpredictability of the work and the inflationary pressures on the building industry, The Trust will also hold in reserve a contingency sum of £1,500.00 which the WBWT can access if there is a cost over-run

A condition of the grant is that an assurance is provided in writing that the proposed work will make an appropriate and enduring improvement to the structure that will help to ensure the bridge's stability for the foreseeable future.
