I was born to a Scottish Mom and Norwegian Dad and moved to Africa – I have a picture of myself age 2 on skis wearing a Tam O’ Shanter standing in front of Victoria Falls which sums up my identity!! After qualifying as a nurse and mid-wife I, sadly like so many nurses moved away from nursing and began a long and successful association with international aid agencies in sub–Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, delivering community projects in health, education and empowering women; and designed and administered funding applications and supported charities to apply for funding.

I previously worked for Scottish Refugee Council as their Community Development Manager using my experience of community development and fundraising to benefit refugees and their communities across Scotland.

I am Chair of Community Development Alliance Scotland

I am delighted to be the Chief Executive Officer of the SFCT and will continue to use my lifelong experience of community development, people and project management to ensure the Trust understands and strives to meet the needs of the community.
